LEARN THE RAINBOW WAY!

Colour theory and piano keys

THE RAINBOW WAY is a new method for teaching music literacy to student musicians.

It is based on principles understood for centuries but only recently applied to music education.

Scholars of the past discovered that white light is divided into seven colours i.e. the colours of the rainbow.

The order of the colours of the rainbow are Red, Orange Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet (ROYGBIV)

Indeed it was the ancient Greek musician and mathematician, Pythagoras who developed the Theory of Colour and Sound.

Sound breaks up into 8 notes, with the last being the same as the first.

Light also divides into 8 colours in the same way as sound.

The notes can also be identified as CDEFGABC or Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti and Do.

In “the Rainbow Way”, we bring sound and colours together to help locate the keys on the piano and their matching notes on the music.

THE RAINBOW WAY is “one of a kind” and ”a great way” to teach the basics of note reading.
